Kertiste A. Augustus is the Senior Logistics and Cyber Security Lead within the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), headquartered at the Pentagon, in Washington, D.C. In this role, he analyzes, monitors, assesses, plans, integrates, coordinates, and advises senior leaders on Joint, Multinational, Interagency, and other Mission Partner logistics information systems, data-related strategies, concepts, technologies and capabilities, and digital modernization strategies in support of National Defense Strategy (NDS) and National Military Strategy (NMS) implementation.

The son of Kertist Augustus and Lyris Vigilante-Augustus, Kertiste was born and raised in Roseau, Dominica, graduated from the St. Mary’s Primary and Academy, and enlisted in the United States Army in February 1998. He has more than 25 years of combined military and civil service.

Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Audit Compliance Lead Consultant with the Logistics Management Institute (LMI), where he led the end-to-end audit readiness support to Headquarters Department of the Army G-4’s Supply Directorate (G-44(S)), Major End Items Division, focusing on the existence and completeness of over $338 billion worth of general equipment/capital assets. He spearheaded the development and implementation of a Tiger Team, endorsed by the Under Secretary of the Army, to advise on business processes within the Army’s $23 billion enterprise resource planning (ERP) logistics portfolio to include Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army), Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), and Distribution and Storage Systems.

Before retiring from the U.S. Army in 2021 as a Chief Warrant Officer Four, he served in a variety of tactical, operational, and strategic-level assignments to include multiple deployments to Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His military career culminated in his assignment at the White House Communications Agency directly supporting the President, Vice President and First Lady of the United States from 2016-2021.
